1984-88 Psychiatry Residency, Triplet Army Med Center; 1988-90, 6th ID(L) Psychiatrist; 1990-91, Fellow of Med-Psych at WRAMC; 1991-92, Chief Psychiatry/Neurology at Ft. Leonoard Wood, MO; 1992-95 Chief Psychiatry Consultation Service, WRAMC. Resigned 1995 as Major(P).

Civilian Career/Achievements:

What’s new: Medical Director since 2001 of the only dedicated acute geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit in Oregon at Tuality Hospital in Forest Grove and Associate Professor at OHSU. Oldest son just graduated from Seattle Pacific University and commissioned as 2LT. He is the 4th generation Army officer in the Armstrong family. His Great Grandfather was a Lieutenant in WWI; Grandfather was a Lieutenant in the Korean War, and father a Major in the Medical Corps 1984-1995. Daughter currently attends UofO.
